The statement from Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster, published Sep 21, 2026 for the International Day of Peace, says he was proud to join the unveiling of a new Rotary Peace Pole in the municipality's newest public park. The notice identifies the location as Bowmanville Park.
The statement credits the Bowmanville Rotary Club with the gift and says the pole carries a multilingual message calling for peace to prevail on Earth.
The mayor's statement describes the pole's message as a call to respect, kindness and compassion and says it should inspire the community to keep building a more peaceful future.
