The Oshawa Generals lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday night at the Tribute Communities Centre, the team says. Mark Pape opened the scoring for Oshawa and Tyler Hinde put the Generals ahead 2-1 in the second period, before Sudbury tied it late in the period on a penalty-shot goal by Kash Kwajah.
Sudbury's other goal came on the power play from Adam Nemec in the first period. Overtime solved nothing, and in a six-round shootout none of Oshawa's shooters beat Sudbury goaltender Paolo Frasca, while Artem Gonchar scored the winner against Matthew Humphries, who made 28 stops through regulation and overtime.
Next up for Oshawa is a road game against the Brampton Steelheads on Friday night, the team says.
